The 1. International BACH | LISZT Organ Competition

The 1. International BACH | LISZT Organ Competition ERFURT - WEIMAR - MERSEBURG is a new founded competition which is nevertheless based on the well-known International Organ Competition of Erfurt domberg-prediger and which somewhat continues this competition in an enlarged way. The Erfurt Competition took place the first time in 1999 – also as a part of the main program of Weimar – European city of culture 1999.

The 1. International BACH | LISZT Organ Competition is organized now in cooperation of the cities of
Erfurt (holder: Dom zu Erfurt),
Weimar (holder: Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar) and
Merseburg (holder: Dom zu Merseburg).

Considering the variety and importance of the historic and modern instruments this competition represents up to now a new and – in this extent – worldwide unique competition conception.
